Storytime

What is your story?

13th January 2025

As we kick off 2025, we've started a new theme thinking about how we share our stories.

Telling our story

We all love a good story. We tell stories, listen to stories and repeat stories. In this theme we’ll be thinking about how we tell our life story, tell our faith story and tell God’s story.

Often writers think about the 5 W’s of storytelling – who, what, where, when, why… and sometimes how too! We’ll be using these to shape our theme as we think about them for Jesus and for ourselves.

Each week we’ll use a passage of scripture – often using some of the lectionary from Luke as we run into lent. We'll also be trying to see these stories from a different perspective by thinking about some of the characters in the story who we know less about.

Andrew kicked off our theme with Storytime: Who are you? thinking about Jesus' baptism.

John followed on with Storytime: Where did you start? thinking about the start of Jesus' ministry (the first sign) when he turned water to wine.

Sam covered Storytime: Who helps us hear our calling? thinking about the calling of the disciples.

Jeremy talked about Storytime: Where are you from?

And then with Andrew we thought about responding to our calling with Storytime: What's my line?
